How much is the deposit?
The deposit is 2 months’ rent.
Can I register my address (Anmeldung) at the city office?
Yes. We give you the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) you need to register in Leipzig – for international students this is often the most important point.
I don't have a German credit history (Schufa) or a guarantor. Can I still rent?
Yes. We know international students rarely have a German credit record. Proof of university enrolment and the deposit of 2 months’ rent are enough in most cases. We may request additional documentation on a case-by-case basis.
What language is the rental contract in?
Legally, the German contract applies. You also receive an English translation, and we're happy to walk through the contract together with you – in English or German.
How can I view the room?
In-person viewings and virtual tours of the room and shared apartment can be arranged by appointment.
What do I need to bring?
Just your things. Furniture, washing machine and internet are already there. Bring your own pillow, bed linen and towels.
